The Eye of the Storm

The Eye of the Storm

By Jim Fusco

Hear a clip:

I wake up from another dream and I ask you where I’ve been.

I’m not surprised that I’m scared knowin’ what a state I’m

in.

I look around through the room and you’re not there to help

me.

If I could only talk to you, how much better I would be.

And I’ll try to raise you up; I’ll

raise you up from low.

And I’ll try to save you from the

praise of long ago.

I’m waking up every night. I can’t think of how to sleep.

I’ll look in another light where nicer dreams I keep.

I hope it works another night, I can’t stay living this

way.

I’m living through a parasite that won’t go until I say:

In the eye of the storm we will

never be warned of immediate changes.

Wakin’ up in the morn’, it will

always be worn while he rearranges.

In the eye of the storm, it is

always the norm to go through some phases.

If we’re taking a form, we will

always adorn what he rearranges.

Now I’m sleeping well and dreaming dreams, but I don’t know

where they end.

All my thoughts have started melding in; my reality needs

to mend.

Every morning I am waking up to a dream I thought had end.

I can’t realize what I’m living; I’m not trying to pretend.
